Nigel Bradley (Director/Founder)

Nigel Bradley is one of the founders of Champions Children’s Homes. He brings more than 16 years of experience in domiciliary care, where he led services at Sarah Care Ltd with a focus on quality, consistency, and genuine compassion. Alongside that, he has spent nearly 30 years as a property landlord, giving him a practical understanding of how to create safe, stable environments where people feel secure and cared for. He is also a father of three, which brings an extra layer of clarity to his work. He understands how much structure and security matter in a child’s life, and he works to make sure those things are in place in every home we run. Before moving into care, Nigel was a professional boxer. That early discipline shaped how he works. He brings focus, resilience, and a steady presence to everything he does. Those values are part of the foundation of Champions Children’s Homes. Strength with consistency. Boundaries with care. Calm when things are tough. Nigel leads on the physical environments across our homes. He is responsible for making sure every setting is safe, maintained, and fully compliant with Ofsted and safeguarding standards. He works closely with the care team to make sure that what we promise in policy matches what’s happening in practice, from the layout of a room to the feeling of walking through the front door. He also supports the wider organisation through property development, health and safety, and long-term planning. His deep involvement in operations helps us stay grounded in the essentials, especially when things get complex or demanding. Nigel believes in showing up, standing strong for others, and never backing down from a challenge. That mindset shapes how we care for children. Every young person deserves someone in their corner. Nigel has helped build a service that makes sure they get exactly that.

Jim Fitzmaurice (Director/Founder)

Every company needs someone like Jim. He’s one of the founders of Champions Children’s Homes and the one quietly keeping everything running behind the scenes. Jim is the tech mind under the hood, managing systems, solving problems, and spotting things others might miss before they become an issue. He’s also a father of two and a foster carer, which brings a different kind of insight into the work. Jim knows what it means to show up for children, day in and day out. He understands the pressures that come with caring and the practical realities that sit behind the emotional ones. That experience shapes how he works and how he sees the whole organisation. The decisions he makes are always grounded in what’s best for the children and the people supporting them. Jim has a background in design, marketing, and digital consultancy. He brings a sharp eye, creative thinking, and a calm, problem-solving approach to everything from infrastructure to communication. He doesn’t just patch things together, he builds with purpose, planning systems and tools that make life easier for everyone. Whether it’s fixing a server, improving internal processes, or quietly stepping in when something’s not quite right, Jim is already on it. He keeps things steady, moves things forward, and helps make sure that Champions Children’s Homes stays focused on what matters.

Dennis Hobson (Founder)

Dennis Hobson is one of the founders of Champions Children’s Homes. He brings with him over 40 years of experience from the world of professional boxing, where he has supported, promoted, and believed in people through every stage of their journey. He is also a father of three, and that lived experience shapes the way he works with others and the way he sees care. Dennis has promoted some of the biggest names in British boxing and helped build careers from the ground up. His work has never been about the spotlight. It has been about standing by people when things are tough, helping them focus, find discipline, and move forward. That belief in second chances, and in sticking with people when others walk away, now forms part of what Champions is built on. The boxing world taught Dennis the value of structure, boundaries, respect, and showing up every single day. These are not just sporting principles. They are life principles. The same ones that help young people find stability, rebuild confidence, and begin to trust the adults around them. Dennis also brings deep experience in running venues and managing complex logistics. He has organised large-scale boxing events across the UK and internationally. That practical knowledge supports the way Champions manages its settings, maintains high standards, and creates safe, well-run homes for children and young people. He remains closely involved in shaping the culture of Champions Children’s Homes. His focus on resilience, consistency, and self-belief runs through everything we do. Dennis believes every young person deserves someone who will stay in their corner, no matter how difficult things get. That belief is now part of our foundation.

Wade Savage (Ops Director/RI)

Wade is the Operations Director for Champions Children’s Homes and the Responsible Individual for Champions Smiles, Cromford. He brings more than 15 years of experience in social care and a strong commitment to improving the lives of children, young people, and adults across the UK. He is also a father of three, which brings an extra layer of perspective and grounding to his work. He understands what it means to care for others and carry that responsibility every day. Wade began his career on the frontline, working in supported accommodation. He supported young people facing some of the toughest circumstances, including those who had to move because of gang violence. His focus was always on helping them rebuild, find stability, return to education or work, and make positive choices for their future. As he moved into residential care, he focused on growing services, improving standards, and creating safe, consistent environments. He made sure relationships were built on trust and that children and young people felt supported by someone who showed up and stayed the course. He later became an Operations Manager, with responsibility for more than 130 services. That role involved leading large teams, managing compliance, and guiding services through high-pressure, often complex situations. He worked side by side with staff to keep quality strong and teams motivated. Now, as Operations Director, Wade oversees services for both children and adults. His approach is grounded, practical, and shaped by lived experience. He champions trauma-informed care, strengths-based practice, and the use of assistive technology to improve outcomes for the people we support. Wade also puts a strong focus on leadership. He believes in building well-trained teams who know what they stand for and feel confident in their work. His goal is to make sure every person supported by Champions has a real chance to move forward and build something better.

Shaun Carr (Registered Manager)

Shaun is the Registered Manager at Champions Smiles, Cromford. He brings over 22 years of experience in residential care. He has worked in every role, from Residential Support Worker to Senior, Deputy, and Registered Manager. That real-world experience means he understands the day-to-day pressures facing both staff and young people, and he knows how to support the team at every level. As a father of three and grandfather of five, Shaun brings a natural, grounded warmth to his work. He has a calm, steady presence and a way of building trust that young people respond to. He has supported young people dealing with complex challenges including behavioural issues, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, county lines, drug use, knife crime, and child sexual exploitation. No matter what is going on, Shaun stays focused on what matters most. He believes in sticking with young people through the hardest moments and making sure the good moments are seen and shared. Shaun is passionate about making sure everyone feels valued. That includes the staff team as much as the young people in our care. He believes in helping people recognise their strengths and build something for themselves, even when life has made that difficult. He knows we can’t undo the pain or change the past. But we can be right there in it with the young person. We can help them find ways to cope, make sense of things, and move forward. One step at a time.
