What We Believe – The Champions Way

At Champions, we don’t just offer care. We offer belief. Belief that no child is too far gone.

That a difficult start in life doesn’t have to define the future.

That with the right people, the right space, and the right values, anything is possible.

Our homes are safe. Calm. Consistent. But they’re also filled with ambition.

Because we believe every child deserves the chance to aim high, whatever that means to them.

The Champions Mindset – Born from Boxing

It taught us structure, respect, and grit.

We don’t expect children to follow that path, but we do pass on what boxing gave us:

  • Show up.
  • Work hard.
  • Respect others.
  • Keep going.

Those values guide everything we do. And maybe, just maybe, one of the children we support will go all the way.

As a champion in the ring. Or in the classroom. Or in their own story, whatever shape it takes.

Whatever they dream of, we’ll be in their corner. ALWAYS

Rooted In Discipline. Shaped By Care. Inspired By Champions.

Boxing taught us more than strength. It taught us character. Focus. Resilience.

The ability to take a hit and keep moving.

At Champions, we bring that mindset into our homes.

We don’t train fighters, but we do help children stand tall, think clearly, and believe in something better.

These values shape everything we do.

The CHAMPIONS Values

The Final Bell – But Never the End

Our Homes, Our People, Our Promise.

We know what it means to feel lost. To feel like the odds are stacked against you.

We know what it means to need someone in your corner. So we show up. Again and again.

With firm boundaries and warm support.

With routines that create safety and staff that never give up.

With high standards, soft landings, and clear next steps. Because that’s what children deserve.

No matter where they’ve come from. No matter what they’ve been through.

Every child who walks through our door gets the same promise:

You matter. You’re safe. And we’re with you, all the way.

Mission Statement

At Champions Smiles, our mission is to give every child in our care the structure, support, and belief they need to move forward. We provide a safe, stable home environment where children can feel calm, cared for, and understood. Our approach is shaped by the discipline and mindset of boxing: routine, respect, and resilience. It’s underpinned by clear therapeutic support and consistent emotional care. Many of the children we support have experienced trauma, instability, or loss. We respond with clear boundaries, patient guidance, and staff who model calm, steady behaviour. We focus on building trust, day by day. We work closely with schools, social workers, and health professionals to make sure every child has a personalised care plan that meets their needs. Education is a priority. So is emotional growth. So is having someone in your corner. We help children develop confidence, learn how to manage setbacks, and make sense of their own story. We give them the tools to move on. Not just in care. In life. We can’t rewrite the past. But we can help shape what comes next. Safely. Consistently. With a team that doesn’t give up. With high standards, soft landings, and clear next steps. Because that’s what children deserve. No matter where they’ve come from. No matter what they’ve been through. Every child who walks through our door gets the same promise: You matter. You’re safe. And we’re with you, all the way.

Our Aim and Objectives

At Champions’ Children’s Homes, we aim to give every child structure, care, and a sense of belonging, the kind of consistency that helps them feel safe enough to settle, speak, and start again. We provide homes that are calm, stable, and rooted in purpose. Our approach is shaped by experience, built around strong routines, respectful relationships, and steady emotional support. Most children who come to us have faced loss, fear, or instability. We respond with boundaries, warmth, and people who don’t give up. We don’t try to erase the past. We help children live with it,  and slowly, carefully, move forward. That might mean helping with sleep. Or building confidence in school. Or simply learning how to manage big emotions without falling apart. Whatever the need, we meet it with patience and structure. Our work is thoughtful and consistent. We keep communication open and honest, with children, families, schools, and professionals. Every child has their own plan. Their own pace. Their own voice. We stay present. We show up when it’s hard. And we keep going, one day at a time. Because every child deserves that. No matter where they’ve come from. No matter what they’ve been through.

Our Mission: Nurturing Potential, Inspiring Growth

At Champions’ Children’s Homes, we believe every child has something in them worth growing. Sometimes it’s hidden, behind anxiety, behind behaviour, behind silence. Our job is to help bring it out. We care for children who’ve had a tough start. That might mean mild learning difficulties, autism, sudden family breakdown, or just the kind of chaos that leaves a child unsure who they can trust. Whatever the reason, we meet each child where they are, with steady routines, patient guidance, and people who show up every day. We don’t rush progress. We create the right conditions for it. Calm homes. Strong boundaries. A sense of safety. From there, children can start to settle, explore, and grow,  in their own time, in their own way. That’s our mission. To nurture what’s already there. And to help each child move forward with more belief in themselves than they had before.

Personalised Support

No two children are the same. We don’t treat them like they are. Every young person in our care gets a plan that’s built around them,  their needs, their routines, their history, and the things they find hard. Some need help with learning. Others need support with relationships, emotions, or just getting through the day without feeling overwhelmed. We take time to understand what’s really going on underneath the surface,  and we build support around that. Our homes are calm, warm, and structured. Our team is consistent and patient. Together, we create the kind of environment where children can start to feel safe enough to try, to grow, and slowly, to move forward.

Dedicated Team

What makes our homes work is our team. They’re steady, calm, and fully present, especially on the hard days. It’s not just about qualifications or experience (though they have both). It’s about how they show up.They take time to get to know each child properly. They notice the small things. They keep going when things get tough. And they bring patience, care, and consistency to every part of the day,  from the first knock on a bedroom door to the last check-in at night. This work isn’t easy. But our team does it because they care. That’s what makes the difference.

Meaningful Moments

Champions’ Children’s Homes is committed to providing exceptional experiences. From therapeutic activities to educational outings and creative workshops, we strive to create a well-rounded experience for every child and young person. These activities enable them to explore their interests, discover their strengths, and build lasting memories.

Inclusive Approach

Every child deserves to feel like they belong. At Champions’ Children’s Homes, we make sure no one feels left out, judged, or overlooked, no matter their background, identity, or needs. We create space for difference. We listen, we ask, and we adapt. That goes for children, families, and everyone involved in their care. Inclusion here isn’t a tick-box, it’s part of how we build trust. When children feel accepted for who they are, they start to settle. And when families feel heard, we can work better together to support the child in the ways they need most.

Community Engagement

We don’t do this alone. The children in our homes are part of something bigger, a local community full of people and places that matter. We work closely with schools, doctors, youth services, and local groups to make sure each child has the right kind of support around them. That might mean help with education, health, hobbies, or just feeling more connected and understood. Some children come to us in crisis. Some are navigating autism or learning difficulties. All of them deserve support that goes beyond the front door, and we make sure they have it.

Our Team

All our homes are either registered with Ofsted or going through the process. We provide 24-hour care, with at least two staff members on duty at all times, so there’s always someone there, no matter the time of day or night. But it’s not just about numbers on a rota. Our team brings calm, consistency, and care, especially when things get tough. They’re trained, experienced, and supported to do this work well. More than that, they’re here because they genuinely care about the children and want to make a difference. We take recruitment seriously. We look for people who are steady under pressure, thoughtful in how they work, and committed to doing the right thing, even when it’s hard. And once they’re with us, we invest in them. Everyone gets regular training, proper supervision, and real opportunities to grow in their role. This work isn’t easy. But for the right people, it’s meaningful. And being part of a strong, supportive team makes all the difference, for the children, and for each other.

Safety

Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Children in our care need to feel safe, physically, emotionally, and in every part of their day. We have clear routines, strong boundaries, and trained staff who know how to respond calmly and consistently. Every child gets the same level of care and attention, no matter their background, needs, or challenges. That’s non-negotiable. Our homes meet all legal and regulatory standards, and we work closely with health and safety professionals to make sure every space is well maintained, risk-checked, and ready for the needs of the children who live there. Fire safety, building checks, and audits are all done regularly, not just to tick boxes, but to keep people safe. We’re focused on supporting children with EBD, autism or learning difficulties. That means adapting our spaces, our approaches, and our team training to meet those needs properly, not just in theory, but in practice, every day.

Incident management

We take every incident seriously, no matter how big or small. It’s how we learn, improve, and keep our homes safe for everyone. When something happens, we respond quickly. We look at what went wrong, why it happened, and what we can change to stop it happening again. Our team keeps clear records, follows all safeguarding and reporting steps, and checks that any child involved gets the right support straight away. We don’t just react, we plan ahead. We regularly review risks in the home, update safety measures, and make sure staff feel confident handling whatever comes up. It’s part of our responsibility to the children, and to each other. A safe home doesn’t mean nothing ever goes wrong. It means we’re ready when it does, and we handle it properly.

Compliance

All our homes are held to the highest standards, and rightly so. We’re regularly inspected by regulators and supported by our internal compliance team to make sure everything we do meets national requirements. Our director of compliance keeps a close eye on how each home is running. That means regular checks, honest conversations, and support for staff to keep things on track. We don’t just aim to meet standards. We work to stay above them, because the children in our care deserve nothing less.

Compliance inspectors

Our services are regularly reviewed by independent Regulation 44 visitors and compliance inspectors. Their job is to check that everything we do meets national care standards, and to make sure children are safe, supported, and heard. We welcome their feedback. It helps us spot anything that needs improving and gives us a clear view of what’s working well. These visits aren’t just a formality, they’re a key part of how we stay accountable and keep our homes running to a high standard. It’s about staying consistent, staying safe, and always working to do better for the children in our care.

Internal inspection

If there’s a risk that something’s not meeting the mark, we act fast. Our internal compliance team steps in to carry out a full review of the home, looking closely at anything that needs attention. They work alongside staff to understand what’s happening, what’s missing, and what needs to change. Once the review is done, they give clear, practical steps to help bring everything back in line. It’s not about blame, it’s about making sure every home is safe, consistent, and meeting the standards children deserve.

Experienced specialists

Our team has years of experience supporting children with autism, learning difficulties, and complex emotional needs. But what really sets them apart is how they work, with patience, consistency, and a steady focus on what each child needs to feel safe and understood. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all care. Our staff take time to get to know each child properly, how they communicate, what they find difficult, what helps them feel calm. That’s how trust builds. And that’s where progress starts. Everyone at Champions’ Children’s Homes takes part in our training programme. It’s practical, ongoing, and designed to help staff build real skills they can use day-to-day. We invest in our team, because the quality of care children receive depends on the people delivering it. We’re proud of the team we’ve built, not because they’re perfect, but because they care, they learn, and they keep showing up.

Quality services

We support children with the things that matter,  from everyday routines to longer-term goals. That starts with simple tasks like getting up, getting dressed, eating well, and learning how to look after themselves. Step by step, we build from there. As children grow more confident, we encourage thinking, reflection, and independence. That might mean trying new activities, building friendships, or managing responsibilities in and around the home. Education is part of this too. We support children to attend school, stay engaged, and feel proud of what they achieve. As they get older, we help them explore future paths, whether that’s training, college, or early work experience. It’s all about small steps that lead to something bigger, a life that feels more in their control, with real choices ahead.

Complaint management

We take every complaint seriously, no matter how big or small. It’s one of the ways we learn, improve, and stay accountable to the children and young people in our homes. Every home has a locked complaints box. One is checked by the manager, and the other by the independent Regulation 44 visitor. This gives children a private, safe way to share concerns if they don’t feel comfortable speaking out loud. When a complaint is made, we deal with it quickly and respectfully. We listen carefully, record what’s happened, and take steps to put things right where needed. Everyone involved is kept informed throughout the process. We want children to feel heard. And we want families, staff, and professionals to know we’re open to feedback, and ready to act on it.
